Tour Plan

Day 1. Arrival in Ulaanbaatar

Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar, you’ll be warmly welcomed by our guide and driver at the airport. If your flight arrives before 10:00 a.m., you will begin your discovery of the city with a tour including:

  • Sukhbaatar Square & Chinggis Khaan Monument

  • Chinggis Khaan Museum or National Museum of Mongolia

Later in the afternoon, transfer to your hotel for check-in and a short rest. In the evening, continue the city experience with a Mongolian Cultural Folkloric Concert, featuring traditional music and dance performances. Enjoy a delicious welcome dinner at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2. Fly to Ulgii city – Kazakh family visit

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, you'll transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Ulgii city, the cultural center of Bayan-Ulgii Province. Home to Mongolia's Kazakh ethnic minority.

Upon arrival, begin with a city tour of Ulgii, featuring:

  • Nairamdal Peak

  • Local History Museum

In the afternoon, we’ll travel to Sagsai village to visit a Kazakh eagle hunter’s family. This is a unique cultural immersion experience where you'll learn about the traditional way of life, eagle hunting, and Kazakh customs. You’ll also have the chance to enjoy authentic Kazakh cuisine shared with the host family. Spend the evening in a roof tent or camping setup under the vast Mongolian sky.

Day 3. Khoton & Khurgan Lake, Altai Mountains

After breakfast, we set off on a scenic drive from Sagsai village toward the pristine Khoton and Khurgan Lakes, located at the foot of the Altai Mountains. Often referred to as the "Mongolian Roof" due to their towering elevation. Our journey will take us across rugged off-road terrain, offering breathtaking views of vast landscapes, snow-capped peaks, and untouched wilderness. En route, we'll stop at the Bituu Petroglyphs, ancient rock carvings that provide a glimpse into Mongolia’s early inhabitants and spiritual traditions.

Upon arrival at our camping site near the lakes, take time to relax, explore the surrounding alpine scenery, or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this remote natural wonder.

Day 4. Baga Turgen Waterfall

After breakfast, enjoy a short but scenic drive to the Baga Turgen Waterfall, a remote and pristine gem nestled among Siberian spruce and larch forests. Fed by melting snow from the surrounding peaks, this waterfall offers both dramatic scenery and a tranquil setting.

Take a leisurely 1-hour hike through the forest to reach the falls. Along the way, explore ancient petroglyphs etched into rock surfaces, offering a glimpse into the rich spiritual and historical tapestry of Western Mongolia.

Return to the tented camp in the late afternoon for a peaceful overnight stay in nature.

Day 5. Altai Tavan Bogd National Park – Sacred Peaks & Ice Rivers

After breakfast, continue your journey to the awe-inspiring Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, home to Mongolia’s tallest mountains. Known as the “Mongolian Roof”, the park is revered for its sacred, snow-capped peaks reaching up to 4,000 meters.

Highlights of the day:

  • The stunning White River (also called Milk River) flowing through the glacier-fed valleys

  • More than 10 significant ice rivers and alpine scenery

  • Encounters with ancient deer stones, rock inscriptions, and petroglyphs that reflect the cultural depth of this region

Enjoy a night under the stars in your roof tent, surrounded by untouched wilderness and soaring mountain landscapes.

Day 6. Hike or Horse ride in Altai Tavan Bogd National Park

Today, set out on a scenic hike or horseback riding excursion within the breathtaking landscapes of Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. Traverse trails framed by snow-capped peaks and pristine glacial valleys.

During the journey, you’ll be warmly welcomed by a local Kazakh family, offering a unique cultural exchange and authentic hospitality. In the evening, camp in a picturesque field beneath the towering peaks, where our chef will prepare a delightful meal to enjoy under the starry Mongolian sky an unforgettable outdoor dining experience.

Day 7. Return to Ulgii city

After breakfast, drive back to Ulgii city, the capital of Bayan-Ulgii Province. Upon arrival, settle into a comfortable tourist ger camp or local hotel, where you can rest, rejuvenate, and enjoy the amenities.

Feel free to explore the local surroundings or simply unwind in preparation for your return to Ulaanbaatar.

Day 8. Fly back to Ulaanbaatar

Enjoy breakfast at the camp before transferring to the airport for your flight back to Ulaanbaatar. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel. In the evening, explore the city at your leisure. Shop for national handicrafts, souvenirs, or enjoy the vibrant urban atmosphere of the capital.

Day 9. Ulaanbaatar – Terelj National Park

Enjoy horseback riding through the park’s serene landscapes, before returning to Ulaanbaatar.

In the evening, attend a spectacular Mongolian Cultural Folkloric Concert, a performance that captures the soul of Mongolian music and dance.
